Ryan Burnett claimed his first professional victory at the Bromont Open presented by Desjardins, posting an impressive 8-under 62 in Sunday’s final round. David Pastore finished second with a total score of 20-under, while Thomas Hutchison took third place at 19-under.
Burnett tied the course record with his spectacular performance on Sunday. After a challenging start with a bogey, the 24-year-old golfer reeled off four consecutive birdies and concluded the front nine with a fifth birdie. He continued his momentum with a bogey-free back nine, adding a series of birdies despite finding water on the 18th hole. His determination secured him a two-stroke victory over Pastore.
The Bromont Open, a key stop on the North American tour, offers golfers a chance to qualify for the PGA TOUR. In addition to celebrating athletic achievements, the event supports important local causes such as the Centre de pédiatrie sociale de la Haute-Yamaska, the Fondation Au Diapason, the Fondation Christian Vachon, and the Fondation des Sports Adaptés.
